Ditch the dirty detergent! Why we need to say goodbye to phosphates.

We can't help but raise an alarm about the presence of Phosphates in our laundry detergents.

Not only do these chemicals harm our skin, but they also have a detrimental effect on the environment. Here's why we should all make the switch to Phosphate-free laundry detergents.

First, let's talk about the harm Phosphates can cause to our environment. Phosphates are a common ingredient in many laundry detergents, these chemicals are known to contribute to the eutrophication of water bodies, which is the excessive growth of aquatic plants and algae due to the oversupply of nutrients, mainly phosphates.

“According to the EPA, phosphates in laundry detergent can also contribute to the formation of smog, which can cause respiratory problems and other health issues.”

This can lead to the depletion of oxygen, making it difficult for fish and other aquatic life to survive. This has been a major environmental concern in lakes and rivers, leading to the creation of laws and regulations in many countries to limit the use of Phosphates in laundry detergents.

Not only that, but Phosphates can also be harmful to our health. Phosphates, when released into the water bodies, can create harmful algal blooms, which can produce toxins that can be dangerous if ingested. This is a health concern for people who consume fish or other seafood from these water bodies.

So, what's the solution? A laundry detergent that is free from Phosphates, such as our own, is a great option. Without Phosphates, these detergents are less likely to contribute to the eutrophication of water bodies and are also better for the environment. They are also often made with more natural and biodegradable ingredients.

“A study by the National Resources Defense Council (NRDC) found that phosphates in laundry detergent were responsible for up to 85% of the phosphates found in municipal wastewater.”

In conclusion, using laundry detergents with Phosphates may make our clothes look cleaner, but they come with a price. They can be harmful to both the environment and our health.

By switching to a Phosphate-free laundry detergent, we can not only take care of our clothes but also take care of the planet and our health. Every small change we make helps in the bigger picture of saving the planet.
